Hello! I am posting this review on behalf of my wife, who has already had an incredible experience with this company while housesitting and left a review for that, but we used them for our own home for the first time now!
TLDR; Excellent service, kind and professional staff that go above and beyond. Would highly recommend this company for any hvac issues, or even for a second or third opinion!
This is the second time in just a couple weeks that Iโve had this company come out and look at an ailing ac unit. The first time was for my parents house I was watching while they were out of country, and this time it was for my own home! These two experiences, both times with Carla on the phone, the first time with Brandt at my parents, and this time with Brandon at my own home, were amazing!
We currently have a yearly contract with another ac company (that ends next month thankfully) and I called them out first to come look at our unit. While the tech that came out was nice, he gave us basically no information about our unit, said he thought it *might* be a refrigerant issue without seeming to do any readings, suggested a complete replacement, and then started writing out a quote for a new system. He called to see how soon a new unit could be installed, and when he was done he went over everything that they would replace but didnโt really explain why it was needed. He also only recommended one unit/system/brand/etc. instead of giving us options, and was very pushy to have us sign the contract then and there. We didnโt do it, told him weโd need time to discuss it, and decided we wanted to get a second opinion.
So I called FL Air & Cooling next, since my recent experience with them at my parents house was amazing, and they proved themselves once again. Spoke to Carla on the phone (and she even remembered me from last time!) and even though it was already 4:30pm she called her technician to see if he would be able to add us to his schedule, and we were set for a 6-8pm time. I LOVE the texting system that tells you your quote time, and then later gives a picture and name of the technician who is heading out!
Brandon was awesome. We felt so bad because he was here until after 9pm, checking out our hvac system and giving us All the information we needed to make informed decisions. He let us know the year of our unit, and also that our supply plenum wasnโt installed correctly and was even blowing our cold air into the attic instead?! We were shocked at HOW the other companyโs technician looked over that, or at least neglected to mention it. Brandon showed us pictures and readings from our system, was upfront with any additional charges for something he believed our system needed (with the option to not do it- no pressure to perform any sort of maintenance each time), and gave us multiple options on what to do moving forward.
Besides losing air to cool our attic space lol, we also Did have a refrigerant leak and paid the extra for finding the leak AND to recharge the system at Brandonโs recommendation. He also took it upon himself to reattach the supply plenum the best he could! Our unit is already working SO much better, the air coming out is colder And thanks to him doing his best to reattach the supply plenum thereโs more air coming out of the vents as well. We appreciate Brandon so much!
Also! In the midst of me typing this review, they called me to check that our ac unit is still running well! Such a small gesture but one that means the world nonetheless.
